First impressions of Club SinRock
I had been a long-time customer at the old Jody's and was disappointed when they closed. I finally went to check out the new SinRock to see what they did with the place. The lighting inside is very dim, so it took quite a while for my eyes to adjust, but when I could finally see everything it was pretty impressive. If you remember Jody's, it was very rustic inside with wood beams, exposed wires in the ceiling for lights, and tons of neon bar signs and TVs mounted everywhere. This is the exact opposite. It's now meticulously finished with nice woodworking, fabrics, high-end metal fixtures, and quality furniture including very plush booths. The overall layout it similar to Jody's with the bar in along the original wall and the main stage in the center between the entry and the bar. The main stage is the most unique I've seen. It's sort of shaped like an elongated octagon, with each side cut slightly concave (sorry for getting all geometric on you, but that's the only way I can describe it), and two very tall poles. There's also a smaller triangular shaped stage in the corner with one pole. Behind the corner stage is an area for PD's which is up a couple steps from the main floor. The main floor space seems very small compared to Jody's, but I think they closed off the previous space which had pool tables. Not sure what's back there yet or if it's for staff only. There were only two dancers on a Sunday afternoon. Both were slim, one was older (maybe late 30's?) and the other appeared to be late 20's. I only stayed long enough for one beer (a microbrew pint for only $2.50) and did not get any dances. I will go back sometime to see how the night shift dancers look and maybe try a PD.
