One day after work, I decided to venture to Mynx Carabet. I had never been in the place when it was the Gold Club, but was always curious to visit. I knew it was right off the highway, but if you don't know where you're going (or don't have a GPS), it can be a little tricky to find. Once I found my way down the service road, and into their parking lot, which was rather large, (and the front parking area was quite full - so I parked in the back), I made my way in. Not realizing it was two clubs, I initially tried a locked door, with hours that stated it opened at 7PM. So I walked more toward the front, to find the entrance. It was before 6PM, and I was pleasantly surprised that there was no one taking a cover charge. (It irks me when a club takes a cover before 8:00PM.) And for a Wednesday afternoon, there were quite a few people at the bar. I took note that the stage was set in back, with what looked like comfortable seating around it. On the outskirts of that area, were bar tables with seating. Neon signs everywhere indicate what each area is (even a neon sign of "Gentlemen", to direct you to the restroom.)

I took a seat at the bar (with my back to the dance stage), and ordered a bottled import, $5.75. Not bad pricing (wasn't sure if it was a happy hour price or not, but assumed so seeing how early in the afternoon it was.) Within 5 minutes of sitting down and getting my drink, a dancer approached. Asked how my day was going, etc., and eventually got to asking if I wanted a private dance. I kindly declined, indicating I had just gotten there, and wanted to wait a bit. (I am always nervous about doing that because I feel at that point I'm a "marked" man and no one else will approach.) One thing that I liked right away - the music! It was a really good variety of genres - hip hop, pop, rock, classic rock, country. Heck, one point during the night, I think The Captain and Tennille came on (WTF!? LOL!) I hate going to a club where every single song being played is a hardcore rap song. I love music and variety, and this place (at least during my visit) had that. So kudos to the DJ here!

While drinking my beer, I noticed how many TVs were around the bar. I sat and watched an afternoon baseball game that was being broadcast. I also took note at several dancers sitting at the bar, socializing with patrons. There was one in particular, that looked like a real cutie (more on her later.) About 10 minutes later, another dancer approached, and she just wasn't my type. AND to make matters worse, I couldn't hear her. She spoke so quietly, that I had to keep saying "Sorry I can't hear you". I eventually just said that I was enjoying watching the game while having a drink. She touched my shoulder and said okay.
