I gave this bar my first visit after receiving a text from a dancer I know who had been fired from Jacksonville's Centerfold Lounge and said she was now dancing at Bare Assets....claiming that it was "just like Centerfold except the girls sometimes get naked". Well, I visited on a Thursday from about midnight till closing and didn't see any of that... though I did see a lot of topless-ness for a Jacksonville FL 'bikini club'. Even the bartender took her top off about an hour before closing. Closing is at 2AM (an honest 2, not 1:40) . The bartender, though attractive, was a bit clueless and not very efficient. When I finally got an Angry Orchard Cider, she, asked for $5, which she said she 'thought' was the price for it. Maybe the regular bartender didn't show up and they parked one of the dancers in her place.

The club setup can best be described as 'long and narrow' with the bar on the far side, a few tables and chairs in the middle and the main stage with three poles on the facing or entrance wall. Beyond that is one pool table and beyond the pool table is an ill-conceived second stage with one pole, which a dancer told me was hardly ever used. The dancers I talked too were all friendly, fun party girl types. Typical Jacksonville fare, and not bad for the Northside. My friend from Centerfold was absent .As usual for me I didn't buy any private dances, but I was told they are $25. Due to the shall I say 'friendly' nature of the dancers I talked to, It wouldn't surprise me at all if extras were available.
