I've driven by Sands a million...

I've driven by Sands a million times and always wondered what happened inside. Ever since the old Rick's closed in 2010 I've been saddened by the lack of dance clubs where you can get more than just a tease. Then I finally found this ratings site, and I felt comfortable heading in here today.

I was shocked by how "nice" it is. Even the front of the building and the front door is immaculate and lets you know this is more than a dive. Walk in and there are stylish tables and chairs, an attractive bar and stage area, and it's very intimate.

When I took my seat a dancer took the stage, and for a minute I thought I was going to be leaving there with nothing more than a couple $5 Diet Coke's in me (there's a $10 drink charge that gets you two beverages.) The first dancer was a white woman, old, way past her prime, and didn't even do much to try and sell herself. Frankly, she looked defeated. Despite that, she approached me after her turn and asked if I wanted a dance, apparently oblivious to the fact she had really bad teeth. Maybe there's enough guys out there who don't care about that, but I certainly do. I told her I just arrived, was in no hurry, and was going to hang out for a bit first. She told me there were only two dancers working at the time. I was hoping and praying the 2nd one would at least be passable.
