The Portland version of Club SinRock...

The Portland version of Club SinRock is open in the old Jody's building and the girls at the club where I usually hang out are all a-twitter about it. I went in on a Tuesday around 9PM to see what the fuss was about.

Compared with the vast majority of clubs east of I-205, Club SinRock's decor is very upscale. This is no dive bar with strippers. Once inside it's hard to believe that this is the same building that housed Jody's for 30+ years. The place looks very nice. There are two stages and the main stage has two very tall (15 foot?) poles. The second stage has a single pole. Small tables are scattered around and there are booths around the perimeter of the main room. The lap dance area is somewhat secluded from the main room and the VIP room is behind a closed door. The bar is across the back of the room where it always was at Jody's.

When I arrived there were half a dozen girls working and less than that number of customers. The two bartenders looked a little bored with few drinks to sling. My well drink was $5. To my surprise when the girl I was sitting with ordered a shot of Grey Goose, that was also $5. From the conversation she had with the bartender I got the impression that her drink might have been more if I had paid for it myself.
