Well, I finally made it to...

Well, I finally made it to the Tropical Lei on a recent flight and 2 day layover in Los Angeles. And it was worth it. I had heard about this club from some colleagues. It's a bit further driving than the club I sometimes visit while on LA layover (Jet Strip), but it was worth the hour drive or so.

Before entering the club you are checked with a metal detector, which is probably a good thing given the location. After paying a nominal cover charge, I went inside. The club is not that large, and I estimate there were maybe 8 patrons and 8 or so dancers. There is a small bar (non alcoholic), a nice stage in the center of the club, and a good seating area in the back with open booths for lap dances. The booths are a bit raised, and not comfortable to sit on, but for a 4 minute dance they are fine. I went up to the stage a few times, and the girls all made sure there was contact by grabbing my hand(s) and rubbing them over their bodies. The girls here are not shy, and most of them were pretty with good bodies. When I sat at a table with a drink (required), I had about 6 girls come up to me over an hour and a half period. All of them did some chit-chat, and then the inevitable "sell" of the VIP dances, which were 3 nude for $120, and "full service" for around $200 to $250, depending on the girl. Every girl that talked to me offered the full service, which was not surprising given I have read the other reviews for this club and got some information from my colleagues. I declined most of the offers, until a beautiful tall blonde who was an Elin Nordegren look-alike (google her) came and talked to me. I couldn't resist the VIP dance from her, and for $200 plus tip had a great time (not quite full service, though it was available). I told her that in the cockpit during our long 10 hour plus flights from Europe the main topics of conversation are girls, cars and money, and she made sure to tell me upon completion that she wanted to be the topic of conversation on my flight back home. Needless to say ... she was! I will be back.
