Decided to try a new place...
Decided to try a new place while I was down here. Never realized SG was the old Crocco's building, although I don't think it was always there. I think at some point it was further north on Federal, but alas. It's a pretty nice club, but that 'most upscale in South Florida' they say on the website became false as soon as E11 opened. It's nice, though. Sadly, it's the club's best asset. I know I went on a Monday, but this was the most empty SC of that size I'd ever seen. Maybe I noticed more because the building is pretty big (when it was Crocco's, there was a huge main floor and a separate upstairs area - the upstairs alone is bigger than most dives I've gone to).
You can get a pass to check out Pure Platinum (a block up Federal) for free. I took advantage. The walk is pretty well lit and Federal is a major street, although I did see a homeless guy asleep on a bench when I walked back to SG to get my car. Just a heads up for people who are concerned about that type of thing.
There's a restaurant on the right once you get past the entry area. The bathrooms, LD area, and some other area are on the left. After you walk down the corridor, you see the main area with a huge stage and I think I saw a couple of satellites. The main bar is on your left once you get all the way down the corridor, and there's another one on the far right toward the back of the club. There are a lot of TVs and screens: a lot. I know many a sports bar that doesn't have as many.
