I lived in OC for about 4 years in the '90s. Places like TJ's were best for high-mileage lap dances, Ecstacy had expensive couch/bed dances (still does), and both Mr J's and Captain Cream's had the best looking girls, though the dances were pretty lame. In that time, I never made it to California Girls. I know that the club was around at that time, but I'm not sure it was in the current location. Anyway, it reminds me to some extent of a darker version of TJ's in Stanton. The club is next to a used car lot, the sign is faded and if it weren't for Google reminding me I had arrived there, I would have scarcely noticed the place. An on-street entrance, and once inside, the host in the foyer makes you take your metal and other stuff out of your pockets, and then there is a $15 charge to get in. No alcohol of course as it is a nude club, and while the host indicated a "two drink minimum", it didn't appear like there were waitresses floating around trying to enforce it. A couple Red Bulls were useful though, as I'd just come from a satisfying dinner and drinks down at Rockin' Baja Lobster in Newport Beach (highly recommended, by the way). Needed to keep the vigor up. There is one stage in the middle of the showroom, with a walkway between the seats and the stage that allows the dance to give you full views (close-ups if you're nice with the tips) of their wares. The other seats are arranged almost theatre-like in the room oriented toward the stage. Mix of ethnicities, I'd say split between black, Latino, and Caucasian gals. Most have large boobs (mix of natural and unnatural looking), and I didn't see the radical tats that I see on East Coast strippers (and non-stripper gals for that matter). The dances are a bargain by East Coast standards. $20 for a standard topless lap dance (periodic 2-for-1's on the night I was there) in an area with individual seating and $40 for full nude. $60 gets you 3 topless dances in a "VIP" room (a room behind curtains with a table), where there is a little more privacy. You can get a room for 30 min too, I recall the rate was $150 or something like that, but I could be wrong since I didn't go for it. Best dancer was a Sheryl Crow look-alike with an absolutely awesome lean yet curvy body. Though from a sociability perspective there were a lot of black and Hispanic gals who were probably more forward, approaching on a regular basis. One was relatively high-pressure but she did give me a 2-for-1 and worthwhile tittie action. Generally the gals don't hang with you for very long and give you their life stories (or want to hear your life stories). There's a younger crowd here then I see at Midwest or East Coast clubs, on par with Vegas age-wise but not as upscale-looking. Certainly more locals here. It looks like it gets much busier after midnight, which is usually my cue to leave. So I did, but I'll certainly consider California Girls again for the quality and quantity of lap dances you can get compared to many other places.
