After a disappointing evening at BT's Executive Club Detroit I headed all the way over to West Eight Mile Road in Detroit to Ace of Spades. I got to the parking lot at 12:35am, Saturday night/Sunday morning. The mandatory valet was $20.00. I asked the parking lot attendant why so much. He replied that there was some kind of special party going on and that's why parking was bumped fro $7.00 ot $20.00. Then he said "If, after you go in, you don't like it, come back out and I will give you back your $20.00." I've never heard that offer at any SC before. He was candid, however, when he said the offer expired after 10 or 15 minutes. I went in. The first thing I noticed was that the club was standing room only, packed right to the check in booth. The door lady at check in said the cover was $30.00. I took a quick look around, left, got my $20.00 back and swore to never return.

This is the second time Ace of Spades has tried to charge me $20.00 for mandatory valet, claiming some special event was taking place. The last time they did this the cover was $40.00. The LD must be FS to charge those kinds of prices, without warning the customer, through, advance advertising, that a particular night is a "special" with a new and higher price structure. Anyway, I'm through with this clip joint.
