Desire is advertising on its door...

Desire is advertising on its door for day-shift dancers, so I decided to stop by last Wednesday around 4 to see what was up. The first thing I noticed, as pointed out by other patrons, is that the dancers' stage is in a totally separate room from the bar - you can't see it when you walk in. But there was a small bar in the front lounge with three ladies drinking (not in dancing attire), and one good-looking bartender. So I asked for a beer, and was told it was happy hour, so it only set me back $3. (Wow- I'm in a strip club, sitting down, with a beer in my hand, and I'm only out $3 so far? Not bad...) Then again, there were no dancers to be seen. Then the bartender told me there was one dancer so far that afternoon, and that the stage was in the back. So off I went.

In the back room, there were two stages - one larger one with stools in front of it that was not in use; and a small stage toward the rear, on which one lovely bikini-clad dancer was practicing her moves. I say "practicing" because until I got there, she had only had one other customer in the past hour since starting her shift at 3. So I talked to her and tipped her for a bit. She said her name is Acadia, she just started that week, and otherwise dances at VIPs during the night shift. But I got the impression the management was definitely trying to hook up more dancers for the daytime. So then I got a quick lapdance in a curtained booth, but only stayed for one dance because of the price tag ($25 - which seemed high to me, given the proximity to VIPs ($20) and the nearby Irvington clubs which provide much, much more bang for your buck).

Anyway, the club looks like it has lots of potential - I want to check it out at night sometime, when I hear it is a raging party. But I'll also be back sometime in the afternoon to see if the day shift ever takes off.
