I hadn't been to Carl's for...
I hadn't been to Carl's for a couple of years, so I thought I'd find out if it had improved at all. The other benefit of going in is that the beer is cheap. I think I paid just 3 bucks.
There were only 5 or 6 "dancers". I put this in quotes because there is no stage. Rather, the girls just walk around asking if you'd like a dance, then either dance at your barstool or take you to a table.
Of the 5 dancers, there was only one I'd actually look at in broad daylight. The others were all either fat, old, unclean looking, or shopworn looking. One even had body odor. There was no "charm" to any of them. Usually, when they're hustling dances, the women at least try to strike up a few seconds of conversation before asking, but not this herd. They just asked if you wanted a dance, and if not they moved on.
The dances that they were doing for those that wanted them were uninspired. This crew couldn't seduce a guy who just got out of jail and hadn't had a woman in 20 years. (In fact, this describes the clintele of the club.)
It will be a couple of year before I get back to Carl's again.
