Found myself in the Upland area...

Found myself in the Upland area and had to make a stop at one of the clubs that literally grew up with. My first visit to this club was back in 1993 when my friend was having a birthday and had a blast. The women were wild and the atmosphere was wilder. Over the years, I really got more involved with the scene making numerous friends at the club, including dancers, drink servers and management staff. To the point where it was like going to "Cheers" and everyone knew your name. Those were the days.

But those days are long gone so stopping by the blub on a lazy Thursday afternoon was strange yet brought back a lot of memories. The floor has definitely opened up for sure. A lot more tables spreading back to where the bar and DJ booth used to be. I am assuming that there are less VIP booths due to the larger floor space. Walked in and greeted by a few of the girls. Many of them remained in the back staring mindlessly at their phones just waiting for their shift to end. I was looking for an old friend of mine who I had heard was still working there. Last time I saw her was probably in 2008. It would have been fun to catch up if she were there but not on this day. I saw a lot of familiar faces and transplants from the old Hawai'i Theater. Mostly casual conversation but nothing that was drawing me to take them up on a VIP dance. I left about 90 minutes later after my two drinks.

Always good to check up on the club now and again. Maybe I'll get lucky and finally see my old dance partner there. That's when my next review will be a lot more detailed.
