So I've been to Mirage several...
So I've been to Mirage several times now with my friends. We had tried out some of the other clubs in Rochester first and when we found out about Mirage, we figured we'd give it a try. At first, we didn't want to go in because, from the outside, it's a little bit intimidating because it's located in a bad part of town. You can park in a large parking lot behind the building and walk right in. Anytime my friends and I have gone, which has always been a Friday or Saturday night after 11:00 PM, the cover is $5. It has a pretty big interior, lots of room to move and walk around, which is nice because when it gets crowded it doesn't feel like you're being suffocated. There's one pool table in the back corner of the place and it's almost always being used. There are lots of tables and chairs, some right up against the wall for the more shy people, some that are located a little closer to the stage, and some that are right up to the stage. The stage itself is one long runway elevated off the ground and has 2 poles. On their busier nights, they sometimes have sets with 2 dancers going at the same time and switching between the poles. For the more popular dancers, guys (and some girls) line up at the railing of the stage and the dancers still give a pretty fair amount of time with you even if you are just giving one dollar. Obviously the more money you throw the more time they'll spend with you and they'll be much happier with you. The overall quality of the dancers varies somewhat because of the times we have gone we always see at least a couple new dancers, however I'd say the quality if pretty high overall. The girls are mixed ethnicity but mostly white. There is always one waitress walking around the room to various tables and takes drink orders. The club has a one drink minimum so my friends and I usually just take turns buying $10 pitchers of the beer they have on tap (shots are so expensive they're not worth it - get buzzed before going to the club you'll save a lot more money that way). The waitresses are all very friendly and a lot of the dancers are too. The waitress comes around and fills your glasses with the pitcher if they're empty and they're not too pushy about buying more drinks. The dancers come over very often to talk to us and sit on our laps and are friendly and don't generally pressure you too hard into buying a dance. There is a small bar area that has nice and attractive bartenders if you don't want to hangout near the stage. There is a section full of very small private room areas for the lap dances. Lap dances are $25 per song (so about 4 minutes on average) but they'll give you one and a half songs sometimes depending on the dancer. The dances are topless and from my experience they allow you to touch them a reasonable amount for a club that isn't full nude. The club closes at 2:00 AM every night but from 2:00 - 2:30 you can get a 30 minute private dance for $150 (so basically you're paying for roughly 20 minutes and getting 30 that way). Overall, the club has a very nice laid back atmosphere and the dancers are attractive and generally friendly. So next time you're in Rochester, get a couple friends together and head on over to Mirage for a fun night of drinks and half naked girls.
