All of the parking in front...
All of the parking in front is tagged for valet only, while the large lot just beyond the railroad tracks is for general parking. The general parking is flat and open with sightlines to many of the surrounding businesses. Folks will be able to see you park-n-perv but I also get a sense of security that few would bother messing with your car with such visibility. The entrance to the now defunct Fare had a cardboard sign suggesting that you head next door.
Entrance of $8 for general 1st floor, $10 with second floor access. The door lady hands you a wristband denoting which class of custy you qualify as though you are under no obligation to actually wear it. As soon as you enter from the main hall/staircase to the first floor one of the waitresses (none hot but all well informed and courteous) will seat you at a table and make sure you are satisfied with the floor location and viewing angles. Beer (pretty much all domestic bottles except Heinie) and a fair selection of mid-grade liquor are available along with a mid-day free buffet (which I avoided) when I dropped in. Mixed drinks were also available though you might have to explain the recipe to some of the more obscure drinks.
The first floor had its main stage roughly opposite where the entrance is. The stage itself has stairs behind it leading to the second floor for the ladies to access it. Bar is to the right when facing the stage, bathrooms (with its well dressed and always-on-the-phone troll) to the back and right. The main stage itself had no pole, leaving the ladies to awkwardly gyrate like untrained disco go go girls--though one or two may have been old enough to remember the disco heydays.
Near the middle of the main floor were at least 2 other dancing platforms with poles mounted along the support beams next to them. They would no qualify as stages due to their limited surface area. It was also amusing to see the girls climb up onto these elevated platforms and I would imagine it is only a matter of time before some osha claims are filed. Though one Korean looking dancer (lala, rara, yaya?) did exhibit some upper body strength by utilizing the wall-pole for some short acrobatics.
Private dances on the first floor are performed all along the edges of the club. Dancers generally quote $20 per song with various services being upsold. I was surprised at how much visibility the high-back chair-forts were able to obstruct. Getting frisky with random dudes 20 feet away felt odd, but it's only gay if there's eye-contact with the other patrons so we're cool. *grin*
