I stay overnight in Lexington from...

I stay overnight in Lexington from time to time when traveling across the country partly because it's convenient, but mostly because the strip clubs are pretty good there. I have been to Cowboy's and Diva's several times and wanted to try something different. Despite a few bad reviews here, I decided to try Camelot East.

The place was kind of hard to find. It's in a strip mall set back off the road behind other establishments, AND you have to go all the way around the strip mall building just to find the door, which is in the back. Free parking, which was watched over by staff. The cover was $5.00 and bottled water was something like $3.00.

I was there on a Wednesday from 8:45-11:45, and it was kind of a clusterfuck – and not the kind of clusterfuck you or I might enjoy. Like a lot of places, even after tipping at the stage, the girls mostly stuck to their regulars, though some came by to chat on their own and a few others came if I motioned to them. The real problem was with the DJ. No, he was not running his mouth (his commentary was fine, and he was a fun presence) – it was that it was his first night in this club, so he did not know how to work the sound system. That meant that sometimes songs just stopped and there were periods of silence, sometimes way too long, which was really, really odd in a SC. All of a sudden, you could hear the conversations of everyone there, even if they were across the room! In addition, he didn’t know the girls or their names, so despite the fact that there were more than a dozen dancers in the house, there was not a steady rotation on stage. Consequently, there were fairly long stretches where he played what he called "break songs" where no one was on stage. I'm sorry, but there should never be a time (at least not with that many dancers on hand) when there's not a girl dancing.
