On my occasional forays into South Jersey I try to make a stop at the Playhouse, but having seen some comments on this and other boards I decided today to give Cheeks a try. A Wednesday between 4:30 and 6 pm. Here's my observation:

The main reason to go is the private dances. I'd call it "Playhouse on Steroids" -- (probably because it's "Playhouse without cameras in the rooms" -- or actually "tents"). With the two dancers I sampled, mileage far exceeded anything found at PH in recent times (and I thought it had the highest!) -- it became clear that anything goes at the $30 per 4-minute dance fee.

The stage dances are lame -- they don't even take off their tops. I was a little put out being searched with a handheld metal detector wand when I came through the door -- especially considering the small crowd was very laid back. Dancers? Recognized some from the PH, and the usual mix with heavy presence of Brazilians (not complaining!) - but, as at PH, very much a mix of ages and looks. The dollar parade was a little agressive (but similar to PH), heavy groping encouraged, and the standard they seem to want to achieve is $4 a visit as opposed to the PH's $3.
