A pleasant evening at DV Rancho Cordova. Tuesdays and Thursdays have good deals, because 30m VIP is $100 (usually $150, which is still reasonable) and I try to take advantage. About 7 girls and 5-7 patrons. In past experience, this club is almost never what one would consider “busy” on weekdays. Apparently they are making money, but I am guessing not a lot. The house requires that someone be on stage even if the club is empty, which probably wears on the enthusiasm that is hard to shake when patrons do arrive.

The girls work on a sliding scale. Show up once or twice a week and the house takes 50%. Commit to 3 days and it is 40%. Commit to 4+ days and it is 30%. The money is collected by machine, so everybody gets treated fairly. I used to hate the machines, as it precludes negotiation in some respects and even at 30% the club seems to be taking advantage. However, I was also exposed to some ROBs at other clubs, so the machine can be of benefit in avoiding disagreements. OTOH, when the machine says it is over, apparently the girls suffer some penalty if they in the VIP and not on the club clock. And the girls keep almost 100% of tips, and at those prices I can afford a nice tip that is often appreciated and provides incentive.

Most of the times I have been there, there was no DJ. They have some sophisticated system that calls the girls names and plays music that they select. A bit monotonous, but the girls say, “at least we do not have to tip the DJ.” And the “DJ” does not say anything completely stupid. The music is OK and not so loud that it interferes with bar-level conversation.

They have the dancer-drink hustle, but are cool when you turn the waitress away. Staff is very nice overall. Most of the girls are nice and will spend some time chatting. Parking is always patrolled, safe, and there is no valet or parking fee. If I am driving my work truck and it is empty, I usually do not tip. But when I want make sure the attendant pays attention to the gear in my truck or my sports car, I pass him a few dollars.

I have spent some time with Christina on past visits, and she quickly found me this time. She has recently lost some weight which has pushed her in to the high 8s. She is a pretty blond in her late 20s with ink, large bolt-ons that look good, a quick, raunchy sense of humor, and great fun to hang out with. We sat for a while and got caught up. Asked her about a dance and she was a little pissed off, because she had been gone from the club for a few weeks and they charged her some kind of $160 up-front fee and started her back at 50% commission. “I don’t want to give these people anything until they change my commission,” she said with a tone of defiance. But then cracked a few bad jokes and she was not going to deny me, so we went for 30 minutes. The rooms are fairly dark and there are many cameras in the building. I am guessing that on a weekday with a light crew that probably does not care that much when things are slow, you can get away with a little more because it is less likely that someone is watching.
