I have been to this club...

I have been to this club several times in the past, but have never been all that impressed when comparing Colorado to other clubs in the Houston area. But given that I live in the Sugar Land area, this club is convenient, with easy access on and off of 59. My time of visit was a little after 9pm, and unlike many other clubs, parking at Colorado is not that much of a hassle, depending on when you arrive. I was able to park up front and avoid the whole valet thing. Although there were only a few spaces available, I have always been able to park free in the past. Not sure how the parking situation is later at night, but I do like the hassle free situation I have always experienced here. Once entering the club, you have to empty your pockets and go through a metal detector before paying the steep cover charge. I always find this to be a huge hassle, as I have to remove everything from my pockets, my watch, phone, etc. I use a money clip for cash, so never feel great about putting my cash in a dish out in the open. Once you go through that song and dance then you get the privilege of paying a cover charge much steeper than other clubs. It is around $15, so before even walking into the club, you are down almost $20. Once in the club, I find it is usually best to have a waitress locate a seat for you. One thing I do not like about Colorado is the layout of the club. It is too tight and centered around the the runway stage. There is a side stage right near the restroom that usually has a dancer there after her stage show as well. I usually prefer a more roomy club and do not like to be seated right on top of the stage. However that is often hard to avoid at this club. There is a back room which I have never been into, so not sure what that is all about or what that offers. I hear that you can purchase a membership to the club as well for VIP access, but it is around $500 or so from what I hear. But if you plan to go VIP, then you will need a membership, which is just too steep for me being that I seldom visit this club, however it does limit what I can and cannot do in this club. Drinks are also very steep when compared to most other clubs. I have never been there when they offered any drink specials, and most drinks, even a beer, costs between $10 & $15. So right off, after cover and your first drink you are down around $35 plus tips in the first 3 minutes. This club is not for the guy looking for a value or wanting to stretch his dollar and just relax and enjoy the views.

As far as dancers, I would say that quality greatly varies. I find this club has lower standards than some of the others that I visit, and the quality of girls is sometimes less than desired. However there are some high quality girls in the mix as well. But be warned that majority of the girls, like other clubs, are “managed” girls and are seasoned hustlers. Many of the girls tend to look for easy prey/targets that always seem to be present in business type groups. I guess that due to the area, this club attracts a lot of business groups in the evenings, which usually means a guy is willing to spend money on his clients, which benefits the girls. Being that I do not frequent this club, I am not familiar with many of the girls, but do recognize a few from other clubs, as they seem to make their rounds from one club to the next over time. The night I went I visited with several different girls, all wanting me to purchase them high priced drinks and shots and then spend money on dances. However 2 of the 4 I visited with pitched the whole membership thing while the other 2 wanted to exchange numbers and pushed for OTC meetings. All in all, I say that this club is not for me as I do not care for the environment and it is way to pricey for the casual visit. Also the hustle level is much higher than other clubs. I would not recommend this club as a first choice to anyone, as there are many more clubs where you can have a much better time and make your dollar go way much further with both drinks and dances. The average club will cost you around $40-$75 on drinks all night for you and girls, while this club will quickly shoot up over $100 after a few drinks and shots. Not to mention what you spend on dances. Also, I do not care for the format where the dances are out in the open, and there is way too much light and very smokey.
