My first trip to Arnies. ...
My first trip to Arnies. I am in Chicago on business, and headed to Arnies about 5 in the afternoon. Arnies is easy to find, located on a busy corner. The parking lot is not huge and the place is not much to look at from the outside. There is a parking lot across a busy street also. May not want to park there after dark, but during the day all looks fine. Did not find the neighborhood to be anywhere near the posts of Smokey the bear.
Inside is small, mostly one open room, but it is decent to nice. Was not really expecting that. Headed to the Men's room. Again, it was nice. Went to the bar. Budweiser was $5. The bartender was pleasant.
There were 3 dancers and 3 customers at the bar. All AA. No dancers free to give me the famous Arnies greeting or tour I have read about. Disappointment there. I sat down, drank my beer, and a sweet young thing appears out of nowhere. She does not give me the greeting, but she is hot and tells me if I want to have fun she is game. I buy her a drink. She tells me that this is her 3rd day of work. Warning bells are going off in my head, but I like her. She has a SS story about being a nursing student but is short of cash and her car got trashed by a jealous woman and she is temporarily "dancing" to make some money. I have a sad thought that this will not end well.
She again asks me what I want. I ask what are the options. Menu is full, pricing for what I want is 70. Not bad My little head takes over and I forget the warning bells. We head to the back. She is all business, but does what we agreed to. All business or not, she does it well and I leave with a big smile.
In summary, Arnies is not far off the interstate and is a well maintained club inside. It had reasonably priced drinks and affordable mileage. It is in an area that is not close to decent hotels, so I think it will always be a late afternoon visit only, but is a very good value and I will return.
