Platinum Plus has closed, at least...

Platinum Plus has closed, at least temporarily, due to a court order precipitated by an ongoing court case. I had a chance on Thursday May 7th, the last day the club operated, to talk with a dancer there who is a friend of mine. The owners of the club believe they will be able to reopen the club in about a month, either at the same location or at a new location, but as of Thursday night they don't know for sure. In the mean time, many of the dancers will be trying to work at other clubs, including local clubs and also Platinum Plus in Columbia. My friend was concerned that other clubs in town would hesitate to hire dancers from Platinum Plus due to the ongoing court case and the recent undercover investigation by law enforcement.

My friend told me what she had heard about the investigation, and the word going around the club is that several officers came in undercover over multiple nights and spent as much as $26,000 during the course of their investigation. The dancers are also saying that they believe the officers involved actually had sex in the club with some of the dancers who were arrested, and if so that seems like a clear case of entrapment by the officers involved. I read an article about the closing on a local news website and the details there were quite different, leaving out anything about the officers themselves being engaged in any activity in the club other than receiving statements from several people working in the club and apparently having taken a video of two dancers doing something "inappropriate" to each other in the club. The statements quoted in the article don't seem like things that people who work there would actually say, certainly not to somebody who just came into the club and started asking questions.

I'm somewhat surprised that Platinum is the club that was targeted, except that maybe its the largest club in the area. I was at another local club not too long ago and met a dancer and really hit it off and that night we were giving each other oral sex in the club during a private dance. We did the same again a few days later and then she asked me to meet her at another local club where we could get away with more and had me bring a condom and we had sex in that club. This was rare for either of those clubs, but my point is, neither of those clubs was Platinum.
