A Halfway-Decent Night At Cracker Jaxx
I drove out to Jackson on July 3rd, since I didn't have to get up for work the next day. I hadn't been to Cracker Jaxx in a while, so I wondered how things might have changed since Avenues has been closed for good. I expected a lot of entertainers and patrons, since CJ is the only game in town now.
At 9:40 PM I pulled into the lot, which seemed about half-full. The club is located in a sort of industrial area. The parking lot is not fenced in or patrolled, but there are cameras, and it's always seemed safe enough to me. No valet, which is a plus.
As I walked up the stairs to the front door, a few people were outside, smoking and chatting. A well-built white woman in a striking red, sexy gown greeted me and walked in with me. I didn't mind, as she was pretty good looking. She said her name was Rose, and she had lots of really curly dark hair and sparkly red lipstick.
Cover for the evening was only $5, and I got a beer for $6. Rose sat with me and we chatted for a while. There were probably six girls in total in the place, which surprised me. Where were all the girls who would have been working at Avenues? They must have all gotten fast food jobs. Or maybe they're working the massage parlors.
The layout of the club is a bit odd. The stage is mostly behind the bar, with a peninsula stage to the left of the bar. If you want to talk to and tip the dancer, you have to wait until she makes her way over there. There are two raised seating areas, one directly across the room from the bar, and one next to the peninsula stage. There are also a few tables on the main floor.
When Rose got up to do her set on stage, I was approached by some of the other dancers. The names I heard were Yummy, Gemini, and Amiria, or something similar. There were two or three more, but I didn't catch their names. Rose is very sexy on stage, btw.
After Rose's set, she came back and offered me some dances; $20 for topless, $40 for fully nude. She also hinted that much more fun was to be had in the private rooms, and quoted me $300 (normally $400, but of course, since she liked me so much, she'd give a discount). I asked what could happen in the private rooms, and was promised that she would make my dreams come true. However, since many of my dreams would involve three girls and a tub filled with Cool-Whip, I kinda doubted it.
I went for three $20 dances in the back, and they were actually pretty high-mileage. There was a lot of upsell for the private room experience, but I wasn't really there for extras, so continued to decline. She even dropped the price another fifty bucks, but nah. I really enjoyed her lap dances, though.
Once I was back in the main area, Gemini approached, and I talked with her a while. She's very sweet and quite lovely. I agreed to three dances in the back (she also charged $20 per song), and I have to say I was disappointed. She's pretty sexy, but the dances were low-mileage, and she talked about some depressing events in her life as she wiggled on my lap. Bit of a boner-killer, to be honest.
At this point it was about 11:00 PM and I decided to just head home. I had been there a little over an hour and a half, and between drinks, dances, and tips, I had spent about $150. I hope to come back on a better night. Or maybe I should try day shift again. In any case, I like this club and I hope things improve.
