This place is a mixed bag....
This place is a mixed bag. It is far more seedy and in a far more sketchy area than you might realize if you go by how they promote themselves on the internet. Not an establishment that exactly oozes class. Oh and forget about convenient or quick cab service when you get done. Two different cabbies called and by the time either of them showed up (hounding me on my phone) I had already secured a ride from one of the dancers leaving. Again going back to this being a run down area it's not a place you really want to be loitering around in the dark of night for well over an hour. So my best advice is to either have an arrangement and pickup time set up with a cabbie, or plan to drive yourself away.
On the interior, the main club itself is actually clean in the sanitation sense of the word, but it really doesn't appear that way. The place looks extremely frayed around the edges and low lit in a vain attempt to hide it. Public smoking is no longer legal in Illinois but you sometimes catch the faint smell that tells you that either it still happens here, or the place hasn't had a true cleaning done in years. The bathroom was actually in decently clean shape, though good luck giving your hands anything like a real washing. There was no soap, no paper towels and pitiful water pressure from the faucets.
I honestly remember not a thing about the bouncers, so I guess that is a good sign that they were so unobtrusive. The bartender was a decently friendly sort but had a shocking in ability to recall my drink order after the 6th one I ordered even though I was one of only three patrons in there. The rum and cokes themselves tasted very watered down. I don't think they get the point of booze in a joint like this. You're supposed to be trying to get your patron wasted so their inhibitions against spending are loosened. After 8 of them I was merely a tad tipsy.
As for the "talent" themselves. When I showed up I was one of maybe 3 patrons with some seven dancers working. Though calling them dancers is a thorough misuse of the word. Most of them made a vague rocking motion or two but basically stood there on stage and radiated boredom. Garments usually stayed on unless you threw bills at them. The talent were more interested in the hustle at the bar and were very aggressive very quickly. They apparently believe in marking territory and got damn close to an outright fistfight over me (might have been flattering under different circumstances). The overall demeanor of the talent pretty much kills any iota of sensuality or mood. At least during the week this place is basically a meat market and little more. If you're looking for extras then you're in luck though. Expect to have them shoved in your face aggressively. Hell, I even got offers to be my outright girlfriend there (though this may have had something to do with me probably being the best dressed patron the place had seen in years).
Physically the dancers fell in to two extremes. Either thin and flat, or chunky like Campbell's soup. This is a black club, not a mixed club like the listing here would say. Only one of the seven dancers was white and there were no other ethnicities but black represented.
