I visited on the day before...

I visited on the day before the big bust hit the news. Had an old friend who was in town and we decided to meet there before going out to dinner. I decided to go early and hit happy hour at 4:00 PM. The first thing I noticed was that there were only a few dancers around and when I asked my waitress what was up, she said that many of the usual dayshift dancers were probably at the funeral of two dancers who died in a car accident the week before (I later googled it and sure enough two dancers had died in a car accident coming home from work). The girls that were there were certainly "B" team and had it not been for the fact that I was meeting someone there I probably would have cut my losses and left.

After I ordered my second drink I asked my waitress if any of my favorites were there and to my surprise one of them was. Before my drink got there she came over and we had a drink together. I had gotten some pretty good dances from her on a previous visit so was planning to go back to the couches just off the main floor, but she started pitching me on the Champaign Room. I told her I was just there to meet a friend so wasn't really interested, but she offered to give me a tour with no obligations. I though, what the heck, and agreed.

She took me up to the third level via a stairway to an area with a small bar and little booth like areas with leather couches. There was a hostess who invited me to sit down and check out how nice the couches felt, and started in with the big pitch, telling me bottles start at $195 on up to $4635.00. The dancer said she would charge according to how expensive a bottle I chose. The hostess also said that I could order all the free drinks I wanted, etc. I started getting paranoid, thinking if I stayed up there too long I might be accused of getting dances and not paying or some scam, so I cut the tour short. Both the dancer and the hostess suggested that extra could be had, but I explained that I couldn't do anything because my friend might be waiting.
