Wonderland is a brand new club...
Wonderland is a brand new club in Providence that I checked-out on Saturday night. As the ladies and management said, it "brings a bit of Miami" to the scene here. So what does that mean? For now its a very expensive club where you look but can't really "play". Here's some details...
The club is located right on a main road in an industrial/port area right next door to the Wild Zebra (old Cheaters) and down the road from Desire. Parking is VERY tight!!- only on the main road and side streets. But there's valet parking available and for now the gate is open to the Zebra's lot next door (although that was full on my visit).
At the door security wands you over and then you enter and pay a $10 cover at the window on your right. Staff was courteous and helpful, offered to help me find a seat, explained the basics and said if I saw a lady I liked just tell them and they'd arrange an introduction. On SCL others said they got their ID's scanned, but I wasn't even asked to show my ID and didn't see any scanner at the front desk.
The interior is on the smaller side- about the size of Desire (without Lust and the patio). Looked a bit like Cadillac Lounge when it first opened- with exposed brick showing and sort of a wild west saloon look- not a typical Miami look. Fairly bright lighting along with lots of strobe lights flashing in my face and deafening techno and rap music. The stage was off to the left and was a low run-way style. The top of the stage was a huge slab of white marble. IMO that's stupid as the ladies can't do pole tricks and it's uncomfortable to dance on. So most of the ladies spent their sets just prancing around the pole and stage not booty bouncing or doing splits. When i visited, the ladies also kept their distance on stage with no boobs in the face or touching of any sort. A huge disappointment for me was that none of the ladies got nude or even gave a peek of pussy:( A couple of girls didn't even take their tops off even with the crowd generously tipping (they had to use a broom to sweep up all the tips!) There's plenty of lounge chairs with tables surrounding the stage and a long counter with stools over by front door from where you can watch the stage. Along the far back wall there were 3 open VIP rooms for groups willing to pay for bottle service. This looked like it could be good as you could watch the stage from these rooms and management made sure there was always entertainers sitting with patrons there and that all the ladies rotated through. Along the wall opposite the front door is the sole bar with about a dozen seats. Drinks were expensive, 8 bucks for a beer! To the left of the bar is a small satelite stage with no seats where they had the ladies go-go dancing. There was only one lady on each stage at a time and their sets were about 10 to 15 minutes long.
So the most important part- the ladies! Talent was above average but didn't blow me- 7 to 8, a couple pushing 9 range (didn't come close to matching the "golden age" of Providence clubs in the early-mid 2000's or "pre-implosion" Cadillac Lounge). All the ladies were either white or Hispanic. All in their mid 20's to early 30's. Everything from spinners to curvy, but no fatties and all the ladies were in very good shape. About a dozen ladies working. The lookers IMO...
