Made it back to Playpen last...

Made it back to Playpen last night after not visiting Tampa for about a year.

I don't know how Playpen is during the day or during weeknights, but it's a black club on weekend nights. It stays open until 6 (all the signs say 7, but if the crowd thins out they close at 6). One thing that's changed: parking is no longer free. It's $10 if you park in the back, $15 if you park along the side, and $20 if you park in the front. The building isn't that big, so there's really no point in parking anwyhere other than the back. They do have people watching the lots: I'll give them credit for that.

Paid a $10 cover (I think it goes up to $20 after 3, since it's mainly an after-hours spot) and went in. I got there around 2:30, so there wasn't a lot going on yet. Bartender not-so-politely told me about the one-drink minimum, and then shorted me a dollar on my change. If they're really that hard up for a dollar, so be it. I'd think there would be enough of a profit margin on a $6 32-ounce bottle of water, but whatever.
