Decided to head myself off to WV and see what was happening in Weirton. I prepared myself by looking on the web to see what discounts were available. Yeah, I’ll pay a little less at the door so the girls can have just a little bit more. Armed with a freshly printed Rumorz coupon I headed down the highway. Driving through Weirton I passed the long dark and silent Hurricane Club and looked for that BIG sign flashing Rumorz. I thought it was odd that I didn’t spot it quickly, and I drove right by the place! The corner it sits on was totally dark. Odd. You would think that if it was closed the webpage would say so. Just for kicks I parked and tried the door. It was locked. The front door still had the same old sign on it letting people know to come in through the side door. Hmmm. Oh well. I headed further North to Tiffany’s to see what was going on there. It was a quiet night there, but I was NOT the “invisible man” I have referred to my self at some previous visits to clubs in WV. A friendly girl came off stage and sat next to me and I asked her about Rumorz. She was the right one to ask. She was dancing there just before they closed. Well, if you read my previous review, you saw my comment about the music. Well I was told the story about the club wanted to establish itself as a “black” club. Well they were certainly playing the musical part! Part two of the nefarious owners from NY was to FIRE all the white girls. Hmmm. You can guess the rest. Low attendance led to no attendance and no revenue. Doors closed and locked.

Two years ago when Tony (now of Silky’s fame) managed the place it was booming and the placed was PACKED. I’m surprised the fire marshall didn’t show up and kick at least a hundred people out, it was that packed. Well it went downhill, and downstairs, only to die out.

I checked the "money goes a long way" rating for value, since I still had as much in my pocket when I left as when I showed up. :)
