I went to Fantasy World on a Thursday night at 1:30am and stayed until closing at 4am. This club seemed to be busiest between 2am and 4am, since Albuquerque’s alcohol-serving establishments close at 2am and anybody still wanting to party can do it here for a couple more hours. Fantasy World is fully nude, but no alcohol is served. The club is owned by the same outfit that owns the two TD’s clubs in town. In the 1am-2am hour at the TD’s clubs, half price admission cards are handed out for Fantasy World. With the card, admission for Fantasy World is chopped to $7. Full price admission is $13-14. When I arrived, the parking lot security guy said I can park under the cameras closer to the entrance if I paid him $10. I declined and parked for free on the other wing of the club’s lot. I am not sure if there is any truth to only part of the lot being on camera or if the security guard was just trying to scam me out of $10.

The club has a weird layout. When you enter, you have to walk through a store selling adult toys and porn. There is also an area next to the store with a DJ booth facing a dance floor. I have seen in some cities (Denver, ESL, Dallas), some strip clubs become 18-and-up after parties once liquor sales cease for the evening. The actual strip club is a little hike to the back of the building. The club has a small bar serving soda and juice and a small satellite stage on the upper area. In the lower area is a very long runway leading to the main stage. Back behind the main stage are booths lining the far wall where one can get nude lap dances with marginal privacy. Booth dances are $25. Dances in a VIP area in the back corner of the lower area are $30. Table dances on the floor are $10.

There was one waitress and one bartender. Both were decent looking. A soda with too much ice and not enough fizz cost me $3.25. A twenty ounce bottle of PowerAde cost me $5.75. The music was mainly hip hop, top 40, and rock at 110 decibels. About fifty percent of the patrons looked to be under 21, which makes sense since this is the only strip club they are allowed into in Albuquerque. There were a lot of young Mexican guys with earrings, sagging pants, and flat-bill ball caps. The other half of the crowd were more mature and had come from the TD’s clubs or local bars. I read in other reviews about there being a cell phone ban, but I had no problems using mine inside the club.
