Hadn't been to Alex's in ages,...

Hadn't been to Alex's in ages, so I stopped by to see what's new. The bouncer's routine at the door is certainly new: I fly through Logan with less frisking and metal detectors. On the one hand I'm OK with feeling like security is keeping things tight. On the other hand, I felt like a bit of a criminal; this is a suburban club on a lazy strip.

Anyway, the interior hasn't improved and still needs some updating. An OK number of girls were there, but the looks just aren't up to the competition at FL:B or in either Boston or Providence. Dances from a cute Latina and a cute redhead were nice, but I didn't feel like they were particularly private or intimate. The most important thing that a strip club can do is create the illusion of privacy--the idea that this girl is dancing for just you. Alex's just doesn't have that going for it right now.
