So this review covers a recent Thursday afternoon. I normally prefer another set of dives Mon-Thurs, but the Thursday offering has been less than stellar and is a fair 20+ mile hike from where I am staying, so I thought I would try Venus again after Cricket appeared slow and not even worth a review. This is a place to be honest, I had one good experience at my first visit and none since. I cannot figure out for the life of me why I occasionally come back here. First off, sometimes a valet, sometimes not depending on whether or not he is paying attention. Lot is small and in a very questionable area of Detroit. While I felt safe, can't say I necessarily felt the same about my car. You won't find me parking an upscale car here.

As for the inside, the setup is....different. Stage close to door and bar/stage area as well. The seating doesn't match well with the stage/bar designs. The tables and booths were OK though.

VIP carries a small fee which has varied on my visits, so I am not sure what the real cost is, but it is minimal and inline with any other club in the area. Booths are more comfortable than a Hamilton club, but still far from plush and not entirely private once back there. It is possible to have privacy depending on the number of people back there and the booth chosen (then generally aren't more than one or two back at a given time on my visits), but if there are 3 or more people back there, privacy won't happen, not that it seems to stop anything though. Privacy or not, you have to be an idiot not to understand what is happening.
