I stopped by The Jungle on...

I stopped by The Jungle on a Wednesday night just before midnight. The attendant charged me a $6 cover, and then he buzzed me into the club. Not much has changed since I used to come to The Jungle regularly. Even the same blonde waitress was working. Bottles of beer are $3 after 9pm and cheaper during the 5pm-9pm Happy Hour. There are two main stages, one on each side of the room. Both were operating before midnight, but after midnight, only one stage was still in operation. It seems a lot of dancers leave around midnight rather than stay until 2am. In the back of the club past the bar, there is a third stage in a party room. This area is usually open on weekends when the club has big crowds or for private parties. There are two pool tables in the front of the club. In the corner of the club, past the pool tables, is the lap dance area. There is no privacy. The DJ booth has a window that opens up into the lap dance area. Lap dances are $25 per song, and most dancers were okay with two-way contact. This is the only strip club in Amarillo with a kitchen and dining menu. The prices are reasonable, but the variety is mostly rib eyes, chicken, and burgers.

The entertainer roster was not as appealing as it was three years ago when I came regularly. There are still some hot dancers in the 7-8 range, but there were also too many older (30’s) and beat-up-by-maternity type dancers. All of the dancers were white or Hispanic, except for one mixed dancer who was half Korean and half Italian. I took her back for four lap dances. She did a good job and encouraged me to touch her. We chatted for awhile, and then did a few more lap dances. Later, I tried out another dancer, but she was not as good looking up close as she was from a distance. I also found out her ass was too wide to fit between my legs—one and done. Dancers made about $20 per stage appearance. Lots of guys were just in there to drink and play pool it seemed. Like other clubs in Amarillo, dancers tend to sit and drink with regulars, though this is not as bad at The Jungle as it is at Cassidy’s.

I will return to The Jungle next time I am back in Rotor City. This was my home club when I worked in the area. My job even used to hold meetings here due to the reasonable booze prices. Hopefully, the dancer line-up gets back up to snuff.
