I went to Players on a Wednesday night. The cover charge was $5. When I arrived, a bottle of beer was $2, but increased in price on a graduated scale as the night wore on. Not much has changed since I visited three years ago. There are two billiard tables near the entrance. The main stage (one pole) is in the back of the room, close to three feet off the floor. There is a side stage (two poles) on the south side of the building. The bar is on the north wall. The lap dance area and the dressing room are in rooms on the north side of the building. The music is mostly hip hop and R&B. The ATM charges 10% of your withdrawal and there is no food served.

The dancer line-up was about the same as my last visit, not too good across the board. There are still quite a few thick Latina dancers, but more white dancers and fewer black dancers. The best-looking dancer in my opinion was Jessie. I out-tipped all of the PL’s at the stage, and she came and found me after she got done. She couldn’t accept my offer for a drink because she was only eighteen. I cut to the chase and took her to the lap dance room. Her lap dances were very mechanical; she stayed in the same position for the duration of each song. I could tell she was new to the strip club scene. Despite this, I doubled up so I could feel up that soft eighteen year old skin (it’s like veau velour) some more and caress her tits. Two songs turned out to be about ten minutes or more. Players is infamous for doing rewinds. If a dancer on stage is still getting tips when her songs are over, the DJ rewinds the song until all of the guys sitting at the stage have been attended to by the dancer. If guys keep tipping, a song can be dragged out to six or seven minutes this way. This works to your benefit if you happen to be getting lap dances when songs are rewound. Lap dance prices have jumped from $20 to $25 in all of the Amarillo clubs. I’d guess a lot of the dancers here would be open to OTC if you are a regular. They are not making crazy money because a lot of guys come in to drink cheap beer, play pool, and watch the stage show. There is a Comfort Inn right on the other side of the parking lot for this purpose.

I will probably return at some point to see if anything changes or if there are any diamonds in the rough. Players is a good place to chill out and drink beer, if nothing else.
