I used to be a regular at this place and it used to be very busy mostly all the time. Then it lost its attraction for me, and many others I suspect. The £10 and £20 dances were replaced by just a £20 dance, but of the previous £10 quality i.e. air dances. This made them twice as dear in the afternoons as Browns just round the corner. So Browns became my main place to visit. The draught beer was better (and still is) and the standard of girls was higher. There was also less pressure for a private dance. I did pop into the Axe about 15 months ago one Friday afternoon about 2pm and it was dead. I more or less gave up on it. Then a friend said he would like to try it again. He popped in a couple of weeks ago and said it was pretty good. So yesterday we went there, with another friend of his, getting there about 2.30. As usual on the first shift on a Friday there was about 8 girls. Two were stunners, a couple were not my type but the rest were pretty good. We went for bottled beer, a Becks was £4. We sat at the bar right opposite the stage and so got a great view of the dances there. As the main passage through to the back where the private dances are, and the toilets are, no one will be standing in the way. No doorman that early in the day, usual £1 in the jug.

Between us we had quite a few private dances and they were lap dances and pretty good too. We were all happy. Its a bit expensive if you stay a while and have dances, though. I had 6 dances with 3 ladies, so £120, plus drinks and jug collection meant I didn't have a lot of change left out of £200 after 4 hours. I am not used to spending that much in Browns, more like £80 to £100 max. I left at 6.30 as I have much further to get home. My friends live in London so stayed on. I later heard my friend left at 9.30 leaving the other one there!

Pressure for dances was higher than Browns, but not as bad as the Rainbow Sports Bar. You are asked in a very sexy way, its hard to refuse, but I did refuse about 5 or 6, I just could not afford them all. A few left at 5pm and then at least 12 new girls arrived, several absolute stunners, I wished I hadn't spent as much before they arrived! Every one I refused was very nice about it, no dirty looks at all. Majority were Romanians, plus some east Europeans. I didn't notice any English girls at all. Friday seems to be a good day to go, it got very busy from about 4.30 and by the time I left there was a small queue to get into the private dance area. That is completely open with 2 long settees and a few chairs. I would guess there can be about 8 dances going on at same time. My dances were all when it was a bit quieter in there so was a bit more comfortable.
