After checking the reviews on TUSCL, I decided to pay a first-timer's visit to the Playhouse Lounge. Arrived at 3:15 on a Friday afternoon. Easy to find, ample free parking (lots of spaces for a pretty small club), and no cover at the door, which I did not expect from all the other reviews here. It was really sunny outside, so it took a while for my eyes to adjust. Decided just to take the first seat at the bar I could see; bottled water was $5.00, but since I wasn't asked to pay a cover charge, that seemed OK. There was a sign that said No Smoking and, in fact, no one was.
I think the only seats in the club are at the bar. After 10 minutes, I decided to move from where I was – about a "4:00" position at the rectangular bar – to the "11:00" position, which was close to both the girls' dressing room entrance and the lap dance area, which pretty much assured that almost every girl stopped to talk to me at some point. That was not necessarily the best place to see the dancers on stage, but it was OK, and the increased frequency of contact during the tip parade made it worth it.
The close quarters of the room's layout makes the tip parade inescapable. However, I appreciated the attention from the friendly (read: handsy) girls, and after they met me the first time around, they really didn't bug me for tips on subsequent stops – although they always asked if I was ready for a dance yet. They were OK with "not yet."
