I have been back to Follies...
I have been back to Follies three times since my last review. I still consider it to be the best overall club in Atlanta during the daytime. The only major problem are the large crowds. It gets to be mostly standing room only by 4:00. However, get here early enough and you will have a chance of striking up conversation and gaining some attention from a few dancers as I did on this particular Sunday. Read on for details...
The club is located on the multi-ethnic pot of Buford Highway. You can park in the lot with valet assistance for $5 or you can park in the large shopping center across the street. I would not recommend parking there after 8:00 P.M. because of the high possibility of getting your car booted or towed due to stores that are closing up for the night around that time. Cover charge is $5 on weekends during the day (I have no idea how much it is at night). You will get felt up by the female “security” albeit quite sensually I might add. There is a tip jar upon entry so you can tip her a buck or two if you like.
The layout as one is walking in is a horseshoe bar in the center, two long catwalk-type stages with a couple of poles called Park Place and Boardwalk, high top tables and chairs along the left and right walls, smaller cocktail tables mostly on the right side of the club but also a few on the left side, couches on the left side, and restrooms located on the right. There are three VIP rooms: two smaller ones that are on the left near the couches and a larger one with five couches in the rear on the right side.
