Even over the short time that...
Even over the short time that I have come to know Follies, I will have to agree that these girls today are taking advantage of the oversupply situation of new patrons or better said, larger and unknowledgeable crowds. The “getting to know you” has turned into a “wanna dance?” as they are far too eager to move onto the next guy. When I am asked the “wanna dance” line, I give them a just as quick “No” without even looking them up and down. Clearly they just want your money without building a relationship. And apparently it must work for them as they continue to do it this way. But if we all keep saying “No”, perhaps those girls will try a better approach.
On another occasion in the recent past, I recall a dancer asking me for a tip for nothing beyond the Follies usual contact. I didn’t take the bait, like I believe most guys would have, and said, “why should I, you had all of the fun!” And in yet another time, I had one girl say it was four songs when it was really two. She was drunk and demanded the money or she would get the bouncer. I never budge from my seat when she proceeded on and got one of the managers. He quickly surmised the situation that she was drunk and not making any sense while and I wasn’t drunk and making sense. He moved on.
I would hope we could hold our ground with these girls and take control of the situation so we don’t get ripped off and worse yet, feel ripped off. I realize that only those of us that read these submissions have a better idea of what is going on within the club from written experiences then perhaps those who don’t read and most likely are being taken advantage of. Communication amongst us guys is our defense from the real communication going on amongst the girls. And believe me, they are talking, for example when they say to one another “I got $250 off this one schmuck for hardly doing anything in VIP”. Now the $100 girls may bump up and try $200. I like it when us on TUSCL point out the rob girls. I wish I could remember the name of the dancer that ran off to tell management on me. If it helps, that episode occurred over a month ago, and I haven’t seen her again! Maybe she was finally shown the door, which is another dynamic going on at Follies. And I even heard this from one of the dancers. The management is not interested in having girls pull crap on the customers. To them, the girl can be replaced and easily are as there is a lot of demand for a job of being a dancer at Follies. Has anybody noticed all the new girls! (Sarcasm) And there are lots of them giving Follies a try! So in some ways more girls are good for us to hopefully keep these dancers in order or else; but it does make it hard on establishing a few ATFs to sit on our laps for a while.
