Upon a recommendation from a hotel...
Upon a recommendation from a hotel coiencierge( plus free passes) we decided to visit one of manhattan's newer gentlemans club vivid. The club is in midtown, walkable to penn station and the port authority. Now I was told that vivid was affiliated with ricks in Manhattan, a decent mainstay which has been around for awhile. Upon entering the club and security, we noticed the club was indeed practically brand new, a purple/pink colored multilevel space with a huge stripper pole on the main stage. There was secondary stage on the next level but it was closed. Even with free passes, there was a strictly enforced two drink minimum. Well drinks were expensive, $20 with tip. Crowd was a mix of businessmen and tourists. Was told weekend before was extremely busy because of the nba all star game. Seemed quiet tonite. Didn't see any female patrons or couples. Dancers surprisingly were not pushy, very diverse a mix of European, Asian, black and spanish girls. I would say 6-7 range. Most were alittle older for my tastes.Received two $20 dances in the armchairs, one air, the other decent. Did not participate in vip. Music was a mix of club and hip hop. Was asked multiple times if I wanted bottle service, which we declined and found annoying. Limited food menu, just sandwiches and salads, but outside the club there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Left after about a hour and half. If in the area I would try to watch the a game here or pregame here before I go to the bigger clubs ie flashdancers or hustler Overall impression, a nice looking club with decent looking girls, worth a second trip back.
