Though I've never posted a review...

Though I've never posted a review of Follies, I've been there many, many times over more years than I can recall. Maybe it's because of the reviews on TUSCL, but I swear it gets more and more crowded every time I'm there. Its reputation is well-earned.

So much has been said about the layout that I won't repeat that here, but I will add one comment. Many reviewers talk about the best places to sit and express disappointment when it's too crowded to even find a seat, but when I come to Follies, I don't even try to get a seat. If you're sitting in one place, you only get to see and maybe interact with the dancers who come to you. I like to roam around the room, scope out the stages, do a little recon (and strategic tipping) on who I might like to get dances from. One of my favorite things to do when it's crowded is just to stand against the wall (like near the communal VIP room in the back right corner, or even near the bathrooms in the front right) because at some point or another, if you're against the wall in this small club, every dancer in the place will walk within a few inches of you. Many, if not most, will stop and chat; many will let you engage in a little two-way contact. More than once I have sucked a nipple or gotten my finger wet while standing against the wall, without paying a penny. One time near the restrooms, there was a gorgeous young AA woman giving a full-contact dance to a guy standing right next to me against the wall. Well, I couldn't help but look at her while she danced, and when she caught my eye, she smiled, leaned over and gave me a really hot DFK, then resumed her equally hot dance. If there's someone I want to get a dance from, there's usually a seat to be found *somewhere* in the club. In that regard, I was really glad they got rid of the pool table and put in some benches for lap dances in the front left corner. That area reminds me so much of Mon Venus in Tampa that I wonder if that's where they got the idea. I've had good VIPs in both the three-couch room in the back right corner as well as the two, more private single-couch rooms in the front left corner.
