Penthouse is a luxurious gentlemen's club...
Penthouse is a luxurious gentlemen's club from the moment you enter. The stand alone building is modern with blue tones on a corner location on 45th Street and 11th Avenue on Manhattan's far West Side. The cover charge at night is $30, but is sometimes waived on a slow night. The coat check is $3. When you enter, the main room is posh and the ceiling height is very high. To the right is a full bar. Premium drinks such as Grey Goose and cranberry or a shot of patron are $18. To the rear is a stage with a pole. In front of the stage are many plush seats and small cocktail tables and off to the side and rear are VIP seating areas. Upstairs is Robert's Steakhouse which is split in two halves with views of the stage below on the ground floor. The upstairs also has a smaller bar and the VIP Rooms.
The VIP Rooms include smaller booths with curtains and a love seat which go for $165 for a half hour. There are also four larger VIP rooms with doors. The "Red Room" is large and costs $700 per hour; whereas, the "Black Room" which is their largest VIP room costs $1,000 per hour. The standard cost for a dancer is $300 for a half hour or $600 for an hour. For example, a half hour in the curtain booth would be $465. For example, two hours in the Black Room ($2,000) with 4 guys and 4 dancers ($4,800), plus drinks and bottle service, and tips for the host and dancers, and tax, would run about $10,000.
The dancers are high quality at Penthouse. An All American blonde with blue eyes was attractive, very friendly and upbeat, but not too bright. A Russian dancer spoke perfect English and had a very toned body. Penthouse generally does not have a large number of dancers working the floor, as the emphasis is more on the private rooms.
