I hadn't been to the Golden Banana in a quite a few years. Back then it was considered the best club north of Boston. Well times have changed and in some ways the GB has really not. It's kind of a classic old style club. Most of the attention is on the stage show. The dancers are talented and quite good looking with a range to suite about everybody. They are very athletic and skilled in the traditional dance style. It's about nice costumes, make-up and little bit of the old tease style. The bar is serpentine and quite large with cages on each end. The space itself is also large which made it feel quite empty on a Thursday afternoon. They were two dancers on at the times I was there. One on the stage and one in one of the cages. I have been there at night years ago and there were as many as 5 dancers on at a time. But it's really all about the stage dancing here and about the craft of dancing. If you're looking for high mileage private dances you should look elsewhere. If you're looking just to see and appreciate very attractive women then this is your place. Private dances are $30 in a semi-private area but Mass rules are followed so there is no two way contact, still could be a nice time with the right dancer. Drink prices are pretty much the same as in any other high range club. I'd go back to sit a the bar and spend a few $1s on a slow day but I'd head south if I wanted any more than that.
