I visited Penthouse on a Thursday...

I visited Penthouse on a Thursday night around midnight at the beginning of the Mardi Gras season. It was the end of the month and the number of girls in the place looking to make their rent money was astounding. (Heard from one of the bouncers it was 66). This was great because the place was full of customers. One of the problems with Penthouse is that on some nights the ratio of customers to dancers is too high and you could spend three hours there and not have a girl approach you. Anyway, there was no table to sit at in the regular area. So my friends and I got a table in the VIP area for $100. All you get for the money is a more comfortable place to sit with not so many people around, but it was worth it that night. There is no question that this club has the best looking girls in New Orleans. They essentially have no dancers who have hit 30, so there is a lot of young and slender scenery with the only large chests being the surgically enhanced variety. The most important thing to remember when you go to Penthouse is that the chances of drunk love and heading upstairs to a VIP room are pretty high. They make strong drinks and the girls will engage in a lot of heavy petting and insinuation of their unbridled passion for you to get you to go. So bring cash for that. It's $550 an hour plus $100 tip to the waitress to keep her at bay during your time if you pay cash. That's not bad considering Rick's charges $1200 for the same hour in significantly less comfortable rooms. But if you use a card, they hit you with a $150 or so extra fee. Most of the girls seem pretty adverse to providing extras in the rooms. YMMV. However, at the end of the month when the rent money is due, the outside the club offers are coming fast and furious. In my mind, the key to really having fun at Penthouse is locating the dancers who have more than a room temperature IQ, getting them liquored up and doing $20 table dances that get better as the night goes along. You'll still spend some cash, but you'll make your dollars last a lot longer and have just as good a time.
