My most recent club experience, just a week ago (Jan 2015), was at Condor Club in SF. Have to say, had a really great time there. I got there around 8 and the cover was dirt cheap ($5) - I imagine it goes up later and on weekends though. I ordered dinner (grilled chicken sandwich with fries) and enjoyed the show while I waited. Food took a while to arrive (probably 30 minutes), but was actually quite good (if a touch pricey at $13, but there was a nice show too).

After that I had a good time hanging out at the stage and tipping everyone who came on. I'm not a crazy tipper, but usually $3 - $5 per dancer will be appreciated and get you some attention if it's not too busy. This particular night was a tad quiet, but still had good energy. The music variety was great (80s, electronic, alternative, industrial, classic rock, country - a whole gamut that I enjoyed nearly everything of) and kept things fresh, and most of the dancers clearly enjoyed the music they picked (one even sang along to Paint it Black with me).

Dancers were primarily white, with a few Asians. Didn't see much beyond that. They were primarily quite hot, with only one dancer who really didn't seem like she should be up there (she was clearly older, teeth a little messed up, and didn't have many moves compared to the other dancers - though to her credit she had a good sultry attitude and very large boobs, and may have been a niche that just wasn't for me).
