The Outhouse is a Lawrence landmark....

The Outhouse is a Lawrence landmark. It used to be a punk rock club. I saw Sonic Youth here back in the late 1980's. It was a dump back then and hasn't been much improved since. It is a nice little drive from downtown Lawrence, past the pavement, on a gravel road in the middle of a cornfield.

The club is BYOB. You can bring in coolers with your own beer. The girls are happy if you share. Bring a bottle of tequila or vodka and your lap becomes the best seat in the house. Considering most clubs jack up the price of the dancer's drinks to gouge the customers, this is a great way to make friends.

The stage is only about 18" off the floor. They have a tradition here I have seen nowhere else. You can go lay down on the stage, put dollar bills on your forehead, chest, & crotch, place your hands on the stage, and the dancer will hop on you nude in 69 position. For 2 or 3 bucks, they will grind their snatch in your face and rub on your junk a little bit. You can't beat that for the money.

On this visit there was a slightly chunky oriental dancer probably in her mid 40's that was very aggressive. She was in every lap in the place. She was constantly doing table dances. I turned her down several times over the course of the night, but she kept coming back. Probably because I was buzzed (and also felt I was the only guy in the room who hadn't), I finally gave her a go. It wasn't a turn on, but I applaud her as the hardest working stripper in Kansas.

I had a lot of fun and will be back next time I am in the area.
