I visited Toledo, Ohio for the first time recently on a few days of work related business and decided to check out the local scene. Since my hotel was just a few blocks from Scarlett’s I decided that was my first stop. I got there about 10:30 pm on a Thursday night. Judging from the parking lot I thought there would be a decent crowd. Parking was free (no valet just self-park) but the cover was $10.00 which I thought was steep for a small town place.

When I got inside it was actually pretty quiet for a Thursday night, about 8 customers and an equal number of “dancers.” The physical set up is reasonably spacious with a central bar and lots of empty chairs at tables. A lengthy bar at which everyone was seated. One end of the long bar is in a fairly secluded part of the place and that’s where most of the dancers and customers hung out. No one was dancing when I walked in and no one seemed to care. But the first dancer up turned out to be the best. She was an 8 that could actually dance and work the pole. The rest were 5’s and 6’s with minimal dancing skills. Girls did three dance sets the last being topless no nude although the club is billed as a nude club. Also, although the club is advertised as non smoking, stale cigarette smoke permeated the place. I stayed for the entire dancer rotation and was looking forward to the best dancer’s return but she only did 1 and a half songs and then got off with her whole two dollars in tips. I would have gotten a dance with her, but she was tied up the whole time with a regular. All the dancers hung out with regulars and only one approached me immediately asking for a dance without bothering to introduce herself so I passed.
