Good news, bad news, then good news again. ***Good news #1***: I haven't been to Gold Club in a while, and was worried about what I'd find. What I found is, the girls are still beautiful, with a dayshift lineup that's hotter than most SF Clubs' nightshifts. ***The bad news:*** They decided to run the music loud. I like loud music in the strip club, it's like a cloak of invisibility for our conversation, but this isn't just loud. No, I'm sorry, L-O-U-D. Ear-splitting loud, as if you're standing right in front of the speaker at a concert. To talk to the stripper sitting right next to me, we had to lean our heads close, or we had to shout (even though we were so close our legs were touching). Stripper told me the increase in GC's already high volume system happened within the past few months. Only back behind the bar can you have any chance of escaping it. Back to ***Good news #2***: As I said, GC has a beautiful dayshift, most clubs in SF would kill for a nightshift that hot. Only Mitchell Bros has anything like a comparably beautiful dayshift, and MB has fewer girls. The hustle factor is a bit higher than, say, Hustler Club (ironic, right?), but lower than Crazy Horse when the girls are in their periodic fits of high hustle. The downstairs rooms are $100 for 3 songs, and based on my small sampling of 2 girls, well worth it (no extras, but fun)

In Summary: I would love to go back, and may, but the memory of the volume, and how irritating it got after 30 minutes, keeps directing me towards other clubs. Hopefully the club manager will read this and consider perhaps dropping the dB level to only 110 or something :)
