I went to Mr. Happy's while...

I went to Mr. Happy's while visiting Connecticut with my roommate on the Monday before NYE. We weren't sure if we'd be allowed in being both female. The club is not physically appealing, nor does it seem welcoming from the outside. We're from Detroit, so we're used to our clubs looking run down and crappy, so we went in anyway. There's a HUGE sign at the entrance that lists the rules - no weapons, photography, etc. I loved that since people take photos ALL OF THE TIME at my home club. Immediately, you see a pool table and the stage. I am a poler (pole dancing for fitness/pole tricks) and the girl on stage was easily a poler, too. She did every trick I know and can do and we briefly chatted. She introduced herself as Honey. She was polite and informative. The manager/bartender came over to ID us. We introduced ourselves and told her our story about being dancers from Detroit and visiting for the week. She offered us to work on NYE and gave a tour.

The stage is setup so that you are looking downward from the tip rail instead of being above you. There is one pole - a 50mm stainless steel Platinum Stages pole stuck on spin mode. The girls rotate by minutes and not how many songs are done (10-15 minute sets). I was shown the Champagne Room. It had three open stalls that can be rented out for $120 per 15 minutes. The dancer would keep $95 of that and the rest goes to the club to cover tip out. Dances are $25 / song and $20 goes to the girl while the club takes $5 per song to cover tip out. I loved this concept of not having a set tip out, but rather the club taking a fraction of earnings. The area for normal lap dances was small and off in the corner. It was one solitary long bench. Gentlemen are not allowed to touch at all (love it!!). There are two locker rooms - a smoking and a non smoking. The club is honestly very, very tiny but lenient with the girls.

There were 4 girls working. I only met Honey and Cloe. Both were welcoming and kind and practically begged me to come in and work with them.

I bought three rum & cokes - all of which were rather strong and cost under $20.

When we left, our car was still there and untouched granted the sketchy building and parking lot.
