I have been to Hi-Beams many times over the years but had never bothered to review it. It is a neighborhood go-go bar and you do get mostly locals. The girls are either black or Brazilian during the day and mostly black in the evening. In the evening they open up the second floor and you can see the girls do put in the effort of trying to dance for you as opposed to some of the other local clubs in which the girls just strut around in bikinis and expect you to tip them. The lap dances are $25 and as always YMMV. The drinks are reasonable. The one thing this place has going for it is consistency, the girls range from average to ugly with an occasional pretty girl, however the bartenders are fast and friendly. You never feel pressured and after a few minutes you will feel at ease. Security pats you down in the evenings but not in the daytime, this is due to the nature of the crowd as it shifts from working class middle aged men during the daytime to a younger more urban crowd in the evening. The second floor has a live DJ and is always good for hard-core Rap fans, since that is what they play, the first floor is just generic strip club music which the girls pick from a jukebox.
