Friday night at Strokers - $20...

Friday night at Strokers - $20 entry around 11pm, but free parking in the large "strip center" lot in front of the club. If you don't like black women and hip-hop music you'll be miserable, because Strokers is famous for both (although Strokers has lost its place at the top of the black Atlanta strip club scene). Magic City and Onyx are probably better bets for black dancer quality in Atlanta, but if you're on the east side of town and don't want to drive into the city it's not a bad option. If you're visiting one of the in town spots on a Friday or weekend night and you don't get there early, fuggedaboutit. But at Strokers you'll get in with no problems. The $20 entry fee at Strokers is stiff (and no one was in line ahead of us, so it wasn't a supply/demand thing), but at other black clubs in Atlanta on Friday night they gouge you to the tune of double or more that amount.

A domestic beer and a Jack-and-Coke were $13.25. Dances in Atlanta are $10 (unless you're at a club like Blaze or Pin-Ups where dances are $5), so good value there. The girls here cater to the audience, and that means lots of booty shaking in front of you with so-so contact. Better than a standard ATL air dance, but nothing compared to some of the better spots in the city. If you like black or ethnic girls you'll find plenty that you like here. If you like white girls don't bother. Spots like these are like a music video on BET (complete with world famous R&B stars that randomly pop in through the night). If that appeals, you'll have a great time. If the thought of a room full of black women and black guys freaks you out or doesn't excite you, stay away. (The club is certainly not unsafe, though. Security is tight and the club is "white owned." There are also 5 pool tables off to the side if that interests you.)
