This place gets a lot of hype because of its prior reputation and it could actually have been a good place to visit except for the fact that it's in Manhattan, where rules prohibit lap dances and basically all touching. This review is about how I found that out the hard way: I get there Saturday night - the cover is high (at least $30 if not more) and for that you get taken into to a fancy place that's all posh, but who cares? As long as a club is clean and safe that's all I really care about. In fact, the less pizazzed up the better. So anyway, I'm taken to a table and from there you can see the girls dancing on stage as well as dancers whooshing by the other tables. The girls are decent looking, (I've heard it's all different races but that night mostly white), but don't seem so personal or interested, rather they're friendly in a professional way. This Italian-ish looking girl comes up to me and we talk for a very little bit. She asks me if I want a dance, and I thought she said lap dance. I say yes, and as we get ready she starts dancing around in front of me and smiling sexily. I'm meanwhile waiting for the song to end so that we can start the 'lap' dance. Well the song ends and I ask her if we should go to a special lap dance area but she says they do them right at the table. We talk about this for a bit and then that song ends. By the time a third song starts I realize that what she's been doing the whole time were the lap dances! But it was barely anything, no touching, just a little sexy dance in front of me - in other clubs a girl would do that normally just when she's meeting you! In this place that's the whole deal. She saw I was a little disappointed and she said "come'on smile you're paying a lot for this!" Finally when that song ends she asks if I want more and I'm like no thanks. And she says it's like $90 for three dances! Yeah she was attractive but it wasn't worth it at all. I don't like arguing with a dancer or seeming cheap but I mentioned that I didn't realize those were the actual dances and that I wouldn't have done three if I knew this was all I get. She immediately tells me that if don't pay she'll call management and she sort of looks over as if to gesture to a bouncer. Whatever, I just wanted to get out. So I blew over a hundred that night and was left wanting. I got up to leave pretty quickly and one of the bartenders I guess felt pity and told me I can go just over the border to New Jersey if I want real lap dances. I did just that, and had my happy ending. My advice is to skip these posh Manhattan clubs and stick to the smaller but decent places that you can find over the border.
