On this visit, I found out...
On this visit, I found out that Mpire is planning to have some kind of membership arrangement next year. I could not get a clear picture of how this might work. I at first thought it might be that the whole club would be closed, except for members. But learned the membership might only apply for certain VIP rooms and/or on certain days.
At any rate, the night I was there, they seemed to be trying out the concept when they closed the club for a few hours, except for the VIP room, which I had only seen in pictures. It is on the same floor as the mezzanine level on the street side of the club. If you've seen pictures of the interior, it has wall decorations made of bamboo.
I was let in with a group of customers who appeared to be specially invited for this event. They had erected a small stage on one side of the wall, which was just big enough for two dancers. However there was no pole on the stage, so the dancers had to improvise. The room had a lot more intimate feel to it than the other two main floors, which are already small. I had heard earlier there was an unfinished fourth floor that had been originally slated to be a membership room.
