Went to KOD for the famous...
Went to KOD for the famous "Fight Night" festivities...for those who don't know, the club has boxing matches between (really amateur) women on Mondays. They set up a ring, the women wear actual boxing gear (headgear, gloves, etc) and so on. It's not Hagler/Hearns, but it's not a fight you'd see in the middle of the street either.
Arrived at the club at about 11:45. Cover was $20, which was good: I feared it might be more because there was an album release party as well. Found a seat on the side of the club and sat down.
Oh, layout: basically a big...huge, warehouse-style...square. Long bar straight up the right side as you enter. You can walk around to your left and then toward the back of the club. I don't think you can walk completely around, though. There's another bar on the far side of the club. Behind that area where you take the left is the LD area. I think it's still 25 to go back there plus 25 a song. VIP areas and tables are mostly upstairs, although there are a few in the central area of the club. Stage is huge: there are also smaller stages on each side. All have 30-foot poles. There's also a satellite stage in the corner by the far bar. They used to have wi-fi and a computer, but they've apparently gotten rid of those.
